Sooraj Pancholi wins Best Debut Award, thanks fans for support

The Best Film Award went to Bajirao Mastani while Sanjay Leela Bhansali received the Best Director Award for the same.

The Mastani was emotionally charged while she won the Best Actress award from the evergreen beauty, Rekha.

Ranveer beat out stiff competition from Bollywood superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and even Amitabh Bachchan, to bag the prized trophy. Surprisingly one of the movies which bags the highest number of awards remain Piku of Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone.

Bajirao Mastani also picked up the Filmfare for Best Action, Best Choreography (for the song ‘Mohe Rang Do Laal), Best Costume (awarded to Anju Modi and Maxima Basu) and Best Production Design. Meghna Gulzar presented the award for best sound design to Shajit Koyeri for Talvar which also bagged the lady for its editor A Srikar Prasad.

India’s 61st Filmfare awards saw historic epic Bajirao Mastani come out the big victor with nine honors, followed by hit comedy Piku with five trophies.
