South Dakota student charged with attempted murder of principal
A student is in custody and other students are reported safe.

On Wednesday, Harrisburg High Principal Kevin Lein was shot by a student during school hours and lightly wounded in the arm.
Authorities said one shot was sacked.
But hearing of school shootings is never normal, and that’s especially the case in South Dakota.
The school, 10 miles south of Sioux Falls, remains in lockdown and parents have been asked to stay away from the area.
“Something’s just going on inside of him and he’s just mad at everybody, I think”, Rodney Buhl said.
The student reportedly pulled out the firearm and shot Lein. He declined to comment on the case but said he was “in it for the long haul”, signaling the case might drag out for months. A struggle between the student and Lein ensued and a gun went off, said Sam Clemens, Sioux Falls Police information officer.
Harrisburg superintendent Jim Holbeck told BuzzFeed News that school was back in session Thursday, and additional officers had been called to campus for increased security.
While their teacher had the left the room for a few minutes, she said a neighboring teacher came over and got her and her classmates and locked them in the next door room.
He also wished this was the last school shooting this country had to handle. The shooting may have turned out far worse if not for staff members who tackled the student suspected of firing at the administrator, authorities said Wednesday.
“This is good ol’ Harrisburg”, Pohlmann said.
