South warming up with rain chances on Monday
The south wind has returned and that bumped temperatures back to their normal January range topping out in the upper 50s and low 60s Sunday. Sunday will be just as warm, but we will have mostly cloudy skies through the day.
This cold front will be knocking on the door very early Tuesday morning leading to our highest rain chances of the week. A few snow flurries may mix in early Wednesday, but no accumulation is expected. A low pressure system will move from the Plains into the Great Lakes and will swing a cold front through the Southeast that will bring the chance of rain late Monday, Tuesday, and into Wednesday. Highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Cloudy, 30-percent chance of snow, lows in mid-20s.
The upper air flow will be transitioning from a northwest flow to more of a zonal flow by midweek before transitioning again next weekend.
The new week will be much different than the weekend as skies will continue to cloud over as highs approach the 70 degree mark. Highs will rebound nicely, though, climbing to the low 50s both afternoons.
It will be mostly sunny Saturday with highs in the mid-30s.
Lows will drop into the mid 40s tonight, and should only recover to near 50° on Tuesday afternoon.
