Southwest Airlines experiencing technical difficulties
The Texas-based airline confirmed the issue and asked all USA passengers to arrive at least two hours ahead of their scheduled departure Sunday.
Southwest is the leading carrier at Orange County’s John Wayne Airport, but airport spokesperson Rachel Gibson said there were no major lines.
Southwest Airlines is experiencing a number of flight delays due to “technology” issues today, according to a news release on its website.
Last month, American Airlines experienced computer problems that prevented passengers from checking in and briefly halted flights on select routes.
San Francisco worldwide Airport officials reported lines of about 20 minutes at the Southwest terminal ticket counters, while a duty manage at the Oakland global Airport said lines were short and security lines normal on Sunday morning. ‘We are working to restore service to our customers, and we appreciate your patience’. Southwest delays have been causing problems for customers all day as the airline works to fix a computer glitch.

The airline also said it is unsure exactly what caused the chaos. “The clock was ticking and the flight took off”, she said.
