Southwest Flight Diverted On ”suspicious” Behavior By a few Passengers
“The flight crew made the decision to divert to Kansas City in response to several passengers, who did not follow crew instruction upon takeoff, and continued to exhibit suspicious behavior in-flight”, according to the statement emailed to City News Service.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation said the flight crew on Southwest Airlines Flight 5929 noted a few several passengers on the flight displaying suspicious behavior.
The individuals in question were deplaned and three individuals were questioned by law enforcement.
However, because of the uncooperative passengers, Southwest Airlines says the plane was diverted and landed at Kansas City worldwide Airport at 7:50 a.m. Sunday.
The plane departed Kansas City around 9:20 a.m. The plane was then re-boarded and the flight continued, she said.
Patton said the flight crew had described their behavior as “unruly”.
Asked what constituted suspicious behavior, Patton replied in an e-mail that the passengers have been “unruly”. He added no explosives were found on board.
The plane took off for Los Angeles again about two hours later.
On Tuesday, Air France flight 55 from Washington’s Dulles airport to Paris was diverted to Halifax because of an anonymous bomb threat.
