SpaceX Dragon Capsule’s interiors for astronauts are awesome
The capsule has an auto-pilot but it can be also manipulated by either the crew or the mission control members on Earth. SpaceX engineers promise that the emergency escape system of the capsule is able to maintain the G forces one experiences during a “ride at Disneyland” even in the most critical circumstances. The initiative is meant to decrease America’s reliance on Russian rockets as well as to simulate the private sector.
SpaceX has big plans for space travel.
The video providing a glimpse of the cabin shows that complex design is not the only thing the Crew Dragon has to brag about. NBC News notes that SpaceX’s Crew Dragon is very unlike the crew crafts of the past. It will be mostly autonomously controlled.
The setting of Crew Dragon’s life support system will deliver a relaxed and safe environment for its passengers, stated the Hawthorne, California-based Corporation.
It nearly looks like something you’d find in a West Elm catalogue, filled with white walls and black accents, with barely any visible controls or dials to be found. Instead, the space is occupied by two luxury seats, and a trio of screens, which show off the Crew Dragon’s vitals and a satellite view of the Earth.
Interior shots of the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft were revealed earlier this week.
The displays are created to provide information in real-time on everything from the spacecraft’s position in space, conditions onboard, and where it’s headed next. They also have the option to control the autonomous spacecraft manually in case anything goes wrong.
The capsule will have four windows allowing them to get a glimpse of some of the incredible sights the solar system has offer.
But being a spacecraft, the SpaceX Crew Dragon doesn’t just look pretty. A launch failure in June means there is a lot of work to be done before the Dragon lifts off the ground.
A NASA research team believes that a collaboration between the space agency and SpaceX could bring samples back from Mars in seven years’ time.
