Spacey nails Christopher Walken & Johnny Carson impressions on ‘Tonight’
Spacey, meanwhile, has won an Oscar, Golden Globe, and two SAG Awards.
On Tuesday’s episode of Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, the MasterClass boldface performed scenes written by elementary school children who only heard the name of the series. Spacey took this opportunity to show off his ideal Christopher Walken impersonation, which meant Fallon could barely hold it together.
While this drew thunderous applause and laughter from the adult audience, one of the acting judges – who were all children – said, “I don’t get you?”
The second bit finds the actors trying to out-Johnny Carson each other, and the final scene involves Fallon wearing a blonde woman wig. “I don’t get you”, said Fallon, alluding to Angus.
“Listen, I have an election to win myself”, he said, according to The Verge.
“The Tonight Show” returned to its NY origins when “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” made its broadcast debut from Studio 6B in Rockefeller Center.
During the event, lead actor Kevin Spacey gamely answered the questions of the press regarding the plot of the upcoming season. “Edward R. Murrow warned us in 1964 that when news divisions decide that the news has to make money, and has to get ratings, it’s no longer news-it’s entertainment”, he told the group of political reporters.
