Spanish football chiefs confirm Del Bosque departure
Taking after Spain’s round-of-16 way out from Euro 2016 due to Italy, Del Bosque reported his intend to leave the part.
Vicente del Bosque can’t imagine being tempted into a return to coaching after stepping down from the Spain job.
“RFEF President Angel Maria Villar and Spanish Head Coach Vicente del Bosque held a meeting today, July 4th, in Madrid where the coach has informed the president he wishes to no longer manage the national side”, a statement said.
“Wonderful specialist Maria Villar considers Vicente del Bosque some part of Spanish football’s legacy and has offered him the probability of continuing in the union, which has been tended to vehemently”.
No announcement about a successor has been made.
The 65-year-old took control of Spain after their Euro 2008 triumph and led La Roja to success at both the 2010 World Cup and European Championships in 2012.
The second half of Del Bosque’s stint was disappointing, with the 2-0 defeat to Italy following a shock group-stage exit from the 2014 World Cup in Brazil as defending champions.
“I have no intention to remain as coach”.
