Spanish Man Killed Recording Bull Run on His Mobile Phone
Mayor Jesus Hijosa said on Monday that the man was filming the run at the town festival around 1:30a.m. on Sunday and apparently didn’t notice that one of the bulls was heading straight for him.
“A bull surprised him from behind and gored him in the neck”, he told AFP.
Despite being taken immediately to a local hospital for treatment, the man, whose identity is unknown at the moment, was pronounced dead immediately, reports The Daily Mail.
The sufferer was recognized as a 32-year-old man from a neighboring city.
Mellado Lopez, 32, is the fourth man to have been killed in a bull run this year in Spain, where there are as many as 3,000 bull running events every year.

The last casualty in the town’s annual bull run happened in 2010, when another young man was gored to death during the festivities.

The animals are taunted as they are let loose to run through the streets, an event which animal campaigners say is cruel and should be banned. Pamplona police sought to fine the man 3,000 euros for endangering himself and other runners.
