Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys in talks for super tour in 2016
One of the iconic boy band groups of the ’90s is back in the studio this month, starting work on a new album, Backstreet Boys member A.J. McLean tells Rolling Stone magazine.
Brace yourselves for the 90s reunion you’ve always dreamed of – the Spice Girls and Back Street Boys are in talks to team up for a tour.
However, it is hoped all five girls will partake in a United Kingdom celebration before the U.S. tour.
Indeed, the ladies from across the pond have also been entertaining the idea of reuniting ahead of the girl group’s 20th anniversary (that’s right, you’re old) – though they haven’t specifically mentioned the joint tour. “[The Spice Girls] were big, but their success didn’t last quite as long, so teaming with another act is a way of booking bigger venues”, an insider told the publication.
Victoria Beckham will not be involved in the rumoured Spice Girls 20th anniversary reunion tour, her bandmate Melanie Chisholm has confirmed.
The 1990s boy band The Backstreet Boys are reportedly in talks for a 2016 tour with girl-power group The Spice Girls.
She told The Sun newspaper: “Victoria has said she doesn ” t want to perform again, which is understandable. But as far as the tour is concerned, most of the other guys seem on board with the idea, too. “We were all eventually going to go our own way, anyway …”
Online, “I actually did a little Twitter shout-out to Mel B because we’re friends and I said, ‘Hey this could be a cool idea. If we do something it has to be all of us, that’s the whole point”.
