Spider-Man: Homecoming Theatrical Review
After a long custody battle over the Marvel family – Sony got Spidey while Disney got almost everyone else – “Spider-Man: Homecoming” must not only restore its hero to his rightful place in the Avengers’ universe, but win over audiences still soured by a fizzled reboot just a few years ago. Furthermore, nearly every one of Venom’s powers (such as web-slinging, super strength, and wall-crawling) is copied directly from Spider-Man.
Brock then encounters an alien Symbiote which bonds with him, transforming him into the towering bulked-up Venom. The biggest problem with Spider-Man: Homecoming is that you’ll find yourself agreeing with J. Jonah Jameson.
Recently additional details about the upcoming Sony movie “Venom” was revealed, and one of those details revealed that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could make a cameo/brief appearance in the movie.
Critics are hailing Holland as “the best movie Spider-Man ever”, and that the movie itself “one of the very best Marvel Cinematic Universe films, and one of the best films of the year”.
The studio however are not now involved with Sony’s spin-offs. This morning, the embargo on reviews for the movie lifted.
Spider-Man: Homecoming actor Hannibal Buress paid a lookalike to attend the film’s premiere for him.
Holland is thought to have been on Marvel’s naughty list since letting slip that “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is intended as the opening chapter in a trilogy, which the studio had not made public at the time. In more recent years, we have had the movie series starring Tobey Maguire (Pleasantville) and 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man and its 2014 Sequel starring Andrew Garfield (The Social Network). A Best Actor nomination for Tom Holland won’t happen, but could Best Adapted Screenplay (for Daley, Ford, Goldstein, McKenna, Sommers, and Watts) be a long shot play? He became so popular there have been a number of comic books, merchandise, movies and television shows focused exclusively on him.
“Spider-Man: Homecoming” provides a different perspective on the hero. Plus, there’s now the entire extended Marvel universe to play with. “To deal with the fallout of Infinity War and be a junior in high school, I think sounds like a pretty good movie to me”.
Set in Queens, New York, 2 months after the events of “Captain America: Civil War”, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” shows the life of 15 year-old Peter Parker, who is eager to fight crime prove himself worthy of being an Avenger.
