Splatoon Adding Rainmaker Mode Tomorrow Night
Friday night will see the Wii U’s ink-splattering multiplayer party game receive yet another new content update, this time adding a new game mode to the Ranked Battle playlist.
The objective is similar to Tower Control, in that the teams are trying to bring an object to the team’s goal, but the titular Rainmaker allows the person holding it to fire Inkzooka shots. The opposing team will have to put a stop to the Rainmaker escort before grabbing it themselves. And be quick about it!
While one player is carrying the Rainmaker, the other players will need to protect them, so it’ll be vital to work together as a team. The Rainmaker is insane heavy, so you can’t Super Jump while carrying it. Hopefully your teammates will watch your back!
Rainmaker is a capture-the-flag style offering where you must take the Rainmaker item to your opponents’ base to score.
Rainmaker will become available at 7pm PT on Friday 14th August for those in North America, and in Europe at 3am BST (4am CEST) on Saturday 15th August.
