Spotify now on Amazon Echo wireless speaker
The first ever Amazon Super Bowl commercial stars Alec Baldwin, Missy Elliott, Dan Marino and surprise celebrity Jason Schwartzman.
Virtual Assistants will soon become common in our households, and one of the first such devices have been launched by Amazon in form of the Amazon Echo.
“Alexa, how many championships has Dan Marino won?”
The full 60 second long Amazon Super Bowl 50 ad is released online and as expected it is very entertaining. Echo also offers hands-free voice control for information from Wikipedia and the web, weather, timers and alarms, news, shopping/to-do lists, sports updates and scores, smart home features, Audible books, calendar entries, IFTTT, and much more-with new skills being added every week.
In late 2014, it was a weird surprise for those when Amazon unveiled its internet-connected speaker, Amazon Echo, that has the potential to listen as well as talk. You can even use the Alexa device to track the status of your order and how close the delivery is to you. Users must be logged into the Spotify music app on a mobile device, and then Alexa will take care of the rest.
The verdict: We liked it. We swear we’re not just saying that because Amazon and The Washington Post share an owner. To put it short, now you have two options: either to order a taxi through the Uber mobile app, or you can just ask Alexa, Echo’s voice assistant. “Alexa, Can You Replay That Touchdown?” “We used to say push a button get a ride, now with the help of Alexa you don’t have to lift a finger”.
