Spotify’s Year in Music shows you how you spent 2015
Spotify revealed in a blog post that 20 billion hours of music were played during 2015, with 2 billion playlists created by 75 million users.
Spotify has unveiled a new end-of-year feature that gives users a breakdown of what they’ve been listening to in 2015. The interactive “Year in Music” page lets you scroll through a rundown of your top songs, artists, and genres of 2015, along with some aggregate stats (the total minutes of played music and the number of songs and artists you listened to).
Spotify has been undoubtedly one of the best music streaming services around and the fact that Apple Music is trying to take them down has not made them weak.
And, providing you don’t mind the world knowing your favourite guilty pleasures, you can share the results with friends on social media.
The Year in Music celebration will also entail a personalized playlist of tracks generated for the users to enjoy, based on their listening preferences during 2015.
Among the data it will present to you are the first song you played this year (our’s was Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass – which we like to think was about settlement building in Fallout 4 and ahead of its time).
Spotify has gone slightly early with its own form of retrospective look back for its members, with Your Year in Music returning by popular demand.
