‘Spotlight’ wins best ensemble at Screen Actors Guild Awards
It was a fitting end to a night that showed Hollywood’s ability to reach and represent people through its diversity in Hollywood.
The actors guild cast a clear vote for diversity, and the beneficiaries included Queen Latifah, Uzo Aduba, Viola Davis and Idris Elba, who won two awards. A number of actors, including Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, have said they will not attend the Oscars ceremony on February 28 over the issue.
Spotlight, DiCaprio, Larson and Vikander are all nominated for Oscars, and with their SAG wins, are cemented as front-runners in their respective categories.
