Sprained thumb could leave struggling Bears without Cutler
Throw in all the injuries Monday night – quarterback Jay Cutler (right thumb), linebackers Lamarr Houston (torn ACL) and Danny Trevathan (thumb sprain), tackle Eddie Goldman (high ankle sprain), defensive backs Adrian Amos (concussion) and Bryce Callahan (concussion) and running back Ka’Deem Carey (hamstring) – and you shudder to think who their replacements will be.
Unfortunately, Gase is gone now, having taking the Miami Dolphins head coaching job, and clearly, whether as a result of his immediate departure or not, the Bears’ offense led by Cutler has been off-sync to say the least. “But that’d be no, he practiced every play of practice last week”, he said, adding that the thumb “didn’t appear” to affect Cutler in practice. He played through it and then aggravated the injury when he was strip-sacked against the Eagles in the third quarter on Monday night. Well evaluate tomorrow. Weve got practice tomorrow, were on a short week already. “It was an emphasis to come out with the same energy and I thought we did and you know just things didn’t go our way”. Everyone in that locker room is upset right now. But before he left the field, he got an earful from injured linebacker Pernell McPhee on the sideline.
In the end, the Bears’ offensive struggles through the early portion of this season revolve around Jay Cutler’s mediocre play at quarterback. “Tough people do”, Fox said.
“I’m concerned”, Cutler said (via ESPN). Expect the Bears to sign somebody in the coming days, but Hoyer will get the start against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. He missed the team’s final six games of the season that year.
The Bears have lost 15 of their last 18 games at Soldier Field, where Fox now stands 1-8.
I like our roster, I like our choices and well do everything we can to get everybody ready for Dallas, Fox said.
The McPhee-Cutler confrontation is just as about sad and laughable as Cutler-Webb, and here’s why: A guy being paid a pile of money who can’t stay healthy is screaming at a guy being paid a pile of money who can’t protect the ball. You an make your own mind up what he said.
It’s time for the Chicago Bears to face reality: They are not going in any direction other than one filled with sheer disappointment in regards to continual losing under the turnover/injury prone Jay Cutler starting at quarterback.
“That’s always been the case on any football team I’ve ever been around”. The Bears released FB Paul Lasike.
