Springsteen breaks his record for longest US show
Christie rocked out hard, dancing, singing and fist-pumping at Springsteen’s August 25 show at MetLife Stadium, fist-pumping, singing, and dancing through record-breaking four-hour show. It was his first of three shows at MetLife Stadium this month, and unlike his previous shows in the NY/NJ area this year, he’s no longer playing The River in full.
Bruce Springsteen, second from right, performs with E Street Band members, from left, Max Weinberg, Nils Lofgren and Steven Van Zandt during their concert at the Los Angeles Sports Arena on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, in Los Angeles. In a poignant moment, Springsteen dedicated “My City of Ruins” to the natural disaster victims in Italy. By all appearances, he had a great night (though maybe not as great as the couple who got engaged during “Jersey Girl”).
The New Jersey show also marked the 41st anniversary of his third album 1975’s Born to Run.
The Boss’ tour returns to MetLife Stadium on Thursday (8/25) and the following Tuesday (8/30).
The River Tour 2016, which kicked off in January, ends in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on September 14.
Four hours was long enough for Bruce to play 35 tunes and tell personal stories about his mom and dad, his childhood and late nights eating diner food after gigs.
