Sprint extends half-rate offer to T-Mobile customers, touts network performance
In order to qualify you’ll need to port your number to Sprint from AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile between November 20th and January 7th, 2016. While recycled in part, Sprint’s 50%-off promotion may gain more traction this time, owing to its 4G network upgrade, a few analysts say.
The announcement has been made, and we’re not sure how mad the other carriers are going to be. At present, Sprint stock is trading down 7.62% at $4.06, as of 12:36 PM EST.
The two carriers seem to be locked in a perpetual price war to attract new customers – as well as a PR race with back-to-back timing on their statements. Excluding prepaid accounts converted to postpaid, Sprint added 38,000 phone subscribers, analysts said. Customers taking advantage of the offer can also garner up to $650 per line in switching fees to cover any potential early termination fee or payment on an equipment installment plan.
The promotion required customers to upload a copy of their bill to a special website and take a copy of their latest bill and all of the phones they planned on turning in for the switch to a Sprint retail outlet.
Before you jump, you might want to double check the fine print on the deal: quote:Disount applies to base monthly service plan and access charges only.
