Square Enix Cancelling PS4 Pre-Orders For New Hitman Video Game
Sony has begun cancelling all digital pre-orders for the PS4 version of Hitman after being told by Square Enix that the “configuration of the product… has changed significantly”.
Make sure you pay attention to the notifications section on your PS4, in case you get the same message about your pre-order being cancelled. This certainly beats downloading a partially finished game, but the recent move to cancel pre-orders of Hitman leave gamers wondering what is happening.
Hitman for the PlayStation 4 has been available to pre-order for some time and now it would appear that Sony is pulling pre-orders of the game. The official Hitman Twitter account provided a few additional details, including the goal of the delay. The release date is still March 11. We’re adjusting a few things and will update in a few days.
IO Interactive has confirmed that fans need not worry about Hitman. Some fans are reporting that their pre-orders have been cancelled by publisher Square Enix.

Square Enix, publisher of the game, responded to the cancelations today, urging PS4 owners not to panic. On 11 March, the game will be released with three open world areas, before one additional area is added for free in April, May and June.
