Staples just says no to Thanksgiving
Staples.com will feature incredible deals on Thanksgiving Day, giving customers the convenience of shopping from home while stores are closed. In a company release, Staples said it will offer special online deals on Thanksgiving day and open stores at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. Consumers also are spreading out their holiday shopping over a longer period, making big events during the Black Friday weekend less crucial.
Doors will open at 6 a.m. on Friday, and it will begin online holiday sales in early November.
“We want our customers and associates to enjoy Thanksgiving their own way”, Demos Parneros, president of North American Stores & Online at Staples, said in a company statement.
Staples announced Thursday that stores will not open on Thanksgiving Day in 2015. It is not clear yet in what direction Black Friday 2015 store opening hours will go.
More stores have been pushing back the start of the holiday shopping season each year. And many workers would rather spend the day with family and friends.
As many retailers are doing these days, Staples offers a price match guarantee.
Staples customers won’t have to wait until the week of Black Friday for great deals. Staples announced Wednesday that it will buy it’s smaller competitor Office Depot and move the retailer’s headquarters out of Boca Raton.
