Star aims for Champions League joy at Principality Stadium
Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale says he is unaffected by the fact he is no longer the most expensive player in the world after Paul Pogba joined Manchester United.
WALES legend Ian Rush will be leading the celebrations if Gareth Bale breaks his global goals record during the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.
“It’s a good game for us as we start at home and I’m sure the crowd will be rocking on the back of what happened in the summer”, said Vokes.
“I played the (2014 European) Super Cup in Cardiff before and it was an fantastic experience to have my friends and family close by”, Bale told British media.
The 27-year-old Wales global winger has been quite successful at the Santiago Bernabeu, wining the Copa del Rey once and the Champions League twice.
“I played in the (2014 European) Super Cup final before and it was an wonderful experience with my friends and family there”, the Real Madrid forward continued.
Bale said that none of his teammates had pumped him for information about Cardiff as yet but “I am sure if we get closer they will be asking”.
But Bale has no problem with letting Pogba hold the record tag.
But the 26-year-old ended the Euros behind Hal Robson-Kanu as he was again on the bench for the Portugal defeat.
“And there’s that motivation – if any more was needed – to make history with Real in Cardiff”.
He may have made only 33 senior appearances, but Oliver Burke is already drawing comparisons with Real Madrid star Gareth Bale. I obviously have a better chance than them as I’m still playing.
To do that Real Madrid will have first to progress from a group containing Borussia Dortmund, Sporting Lisbon and Legia Warsaw. Not many people get to say they’ve won it and no matter what goes on in the transfer market you have to have a great season to win it.
“Man City came close last season, making the semi-final against us, and I see no reason why Leicester can’t do well”.
“Champions League means more games, so you don’t know how it will pan out for them”.
