Star of Lifetime’s UnReal Cast in Game of Thrones
Freddie Stroma, who starred as Adam on the critically-acclaimed Lifetime series, is joining Game of Thrones’ upcoming sixth season, and he’ll be playing a relative of the fan-favorite character, Samwell Tarly.
UnREAL alum Freddie Stroma has signed on to play Samwell’s brother, Dickon, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Shortly after season five ended, casting sheets went out including an unnamed “cruel father” and various family members that many suspected would be the Tarlys. Stroma has some experience portraying a manipulative character.
The London-born actor also played Cormac McLaggen in two Harry Potter films. Though he may just look like a handsome face, Cromwell often schemes with the producers and manipulates his female suitors in order to get ahead. When we last saw Sam in season 5, he was leaving Castle Black with Gilly for Oldtown to study to become a maester.
Dickon Tarley is the younger, warrior brother of Sam and, in the books by George R R Martin, he is engaged to the daughter of the Lord of Maidenpool. He didn’t know about the uprising that the men planned to kill Jon Snow (Kit Harrington).
No further details have been revealed on how Dickon will fit in to the struggles of Westeros.
