Star Wars: A force to be reckoned with on social media
To mark this historic occasion, the Cato Institute and I have produced this podcast on the politics of the Star Wars franchise.
It doesn’t sound unusual to hear things like “good versus evil” come through Darth Vader’s mask, but Waddell also talked about more mundane things, like the traffic – it was bad – and he had to excuse himself a few times to go outside and cool down – it gets hot under all the layers of fabric and plastic, topped with a cape. “I like fantasy and it’s cool to be in a different world using the “force” – it’s been a part of my life growing up”.
Two issues of “Star Wars”, Nos. I recently took a look at the originals and I would have to say I kind of like the original.
Then there’s the icing on the Christmas shopping cake – the dying art of holding the door open for the next person coming in/going out.
“I’ve thought about it many times, but it’s not a question of dollars – which I’d happily spend – only that they usually aren’t made available to theaters, or only in very specific deals that tend to get offered to the corporate theaters”, he said.
“I had to have arms to hold the candy bag”.
At the Emagine Theaters, they are encouraging people to come in costume. One Huffington Post blogger, while examining this tradition, aptly named the moment “premature e-hold-ulation”.
What’s most exciting about the new movie? Fourteen feet seems to be the average.
“I can’t imagine the variability that’s going to take place”.
Wouldn’t it be great if you could tap into “The Force” to hold the door open?
Galactic Empire’s six-minute Star Wars cover (below) stars Boba Fett on drums, a Stormtrooper on bass, a Shadow Trooper and Imperial Guard on rhythm guitar and a typically brutal Darth Vader who’s prepared to crush you on lead guitar.
Do you see yourself as Darth Vader-like? But we do have one of our members that we’re always teasing that he should be because, you know, he’s so wild and insane and animated.
