Star Wars Battlefront beta beats EA records with over 9 million players

Electronic Arts has announced over 9 million people played the Star Wars: Battlefront beta.

The single-player or cooperative Survival mission takes place on Tatooine, as you fight off increasingly hard waves of stormtroopers, AT-STs and more moving on your position-not unlike Gears of War’s Horde. Hero Hunt is a game mode where one player spawns as a Hero or Villain character, and seven other players spawn as troopers from the opposing side.

However, unlike the traditional capture the flag concept, gamers do not have to bring back their original cargo to their bases before stealing new ones from the opposing team. But your team can also embrace the dynamic, chaotic nature of the game mode and equip Jump Packs to get around the map and chase the Droids as fast as possible.

“In addition to the Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass, today we are also ready to reveal the Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition which includes all the content available in the Star Wars Battlefront Deluxe Edition as well as the Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass.” While the Heroes and Villains can do the most damage to the enemy team, you have to protect them from harm. This 6v6 game mode features both the Rebels and Imperials in their respective bases. Whoever kills the Hero or Villain will become them and try to outlast the competition.

However, if you’re used to playing multiplayer games with a regular gathering of friends, this shouldn’t be an issue and you should be good to go with a third-party app, such as Mumble.
