Star Wars: Battlefront Beta Had More Than Nine Million Players
EA has announced the game’s Ultimate Edition and season pass. That cycle continued one year later with its sequel, Star Wars: Battlefront II. However, of late, they seem to be trying again and their latest offering in the form of the much-awaited Star Wars Battlefront might be exactly what the gaming world needs right now.
“Fight in epic Star Wars battles on iconic planets and rise through the ranks playing as the heroic Rebellion or the evil galactic Empire”. Here you can even test out the hero and villain at the heart of the series, Jedi knight Luke Skywalker and Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader.
That Star Wars Battlefront will have downloadable content isn’t what’s shocking.
The words “Season Pass” just make me vomit. It’s also a stunning amount of money when you consider that the base copy of Star Wars Battlefront itself costs $59.99. Whoever kills the Hero or Villain will become them and try to outlast the competition. Ultimate Edition is also a new purchase option for players come November. The other $10 is for the Deluxe Edition content, which includes a couple weapons (Han Solo’s blaster among them) and a few emotes, which are now a trendy thing to sell thanks in large part to Destiny.
As far as single-player offerings, we already know about the Survival Mode, which acts like a Horde mode for one or two players to tackle together. This news comes from the posts found on the Star Wars Battlefront website.
To be clear, these days all video games have season passes. For example, EA is only confirming that users will get four different expansions. The DLC packs have not yet been announced though, so we’ll have to wait and see what they actually are before getting too excited.
