Star Wars: Battlefront gets 20 player aerial combat with Fighter Squadron mode
Star Wars: Battlefront will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17th.
Speaking of hybrids – one of the big things flagged up before the conference began was the hopes of seeing more of Quantum Break, the new game and TV show experience first revealed at GamesCom too years ago, but not heard from since. The objective for each game can be different. Rather than a tacked on feature, dogfighting seems to be a fully developed mode with glorious TIE on X-wing and Millenium Falcon on Imperial Transport gunning action.
The game’s first cinematic trailer definitely had a mic drop moment when Darth Vader shows up in the last moments, but the reveal trailer for the Fighter Squadron mode has about five of those jaw-dropping moments. Expect serious battles about the vehicle carries and win extra focuses on the off chance that you “deal with” them as your goal coordinates. You will be able to choose between X-Wings, A-Wings, Tie Fighters and Tie Interceptors – plus, AI-controlled ships will join in to make sure the battles always feel frantic.
The entry fee for the draft will be 15,000 coins, 300 Federation Internationale de Football Association points or 1 Draft Token. In other Federation Internationale de Football Association 16-related news, Career mode will get some notable new features like the addition of pre-season tournaments and the ability to train your youth and first team players. This game will not only serve as a fantastic Christmas present for any Star Wars fan, but it will also get fans ready for the highly-anticipated movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens, arriving in theaters December 18.
Games developer EA DICE just tweeted a brief teaser of the new X-Wing Fighters for its upcoming “Star Wars: Battlefront” video game. “In the next battle, you might find yourselves among Tatooine’s dusty canyons, or inside the undeniably cool Ice Caves on Hoth”.
They’ve chosen a bit of an odd angle for it, but that’s clearly an AT-ST as we remember it from Return Of The Jedi. Being behind the ship made it much easier to track enemies, and unfortunately, given this is a competitive game, that means having to give up immersion for the sake of extra kills.
Acting as the firstborn of EA and Lucasfilm’s ten-year licensing agreement, DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront is shouldering a considerable amount of expectation from fans of the film and the Battlefront franchise alike.
Star Wars Battlefront looks like a good game so far. As an additional feat, The Millennium Falcon will be part of the roster, but comes at a price.
