Star Wars Battlefront Is Fastest Selling Non-Sequel PS4 Title Ever

In my opinion the following release of the Star Wars movie has a great impact on the sales recorded for Star Wars Battlefront, but by all means this doesn’t mean the game is not deserving of such title.

With regard to the availability of the remastered “Super Star Wars” game for PS4, Christian Post has revealed that it is for the first time that the original classic 16-bit game has been launched on any other platform besides Nintendo consoles.

Fallout 4 may have reigned supreme earlier in the month, but it couldn’t top the charts for the second week in a row thanks to the release of Star Wars Battlefront.

It was also mentioned the game became the fastest selling non-sequel on the PS4 to date according to Eurogamer.

A tweet from Xbox also hinted at properties in the Star Wars franchise in a marketing drive for its Elite and Lunar Xbox One controller launch. Still, it is pretty impressive to see Star Wars Battlefront outnumbering Call of Duty Black Ops 3 and Fallout 4 in actual physical sales. (NASDAQ: EA), the maker of the Star Wars game, tumbled nearly 6 percent.
