Star Wars Battlefront will not have split-screen on PC
Surprising nearly noone, EA have confirmed that the PC version of Star Wars Battlefront will not support split-screen, despite the console version having the feature. When that’s done, a Y-Wing gets added to reinforcements to bring down the shields of the AT-AT for Rebels to shoot it.
The Star Wars Battlefront release date is set for November 17 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
EA has now briefly answered a few fan questions about Star Wars Battlefront. Y-wings are non-player controlled vehicles.
The FAQ post also revealed that in the Walker Assault Mode you’ll be able to spawn inside a vehicle after collecting vehicle power ups that are scattered around the map. Free Radical (who later became Crytek UK) basically took everything that was in Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and then ramped it up by 11.
In case some of you are still unfamiliar with the Walker Assault mode, the game mode basically revolves around a couple of phases which keep on repeating throughout the entire match. As for the split-screen on PC… Furthermore, these missions are completely divorced from the action game’s standard multiplayer mode, but they can be played offline or online for credit rewards that people can use to purchase unlocks.
Developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts have shared quite a lot of interesting details in recent months, especially back in June at E3 2015, where several different gameplay demonstrations were made. This is a design decision to allow more equal distribution of the vehicle power ups amongst all players.
So, yeah, it sounds like the game will be going without a few of the amenities that players were hoping for.
