Star Wars’ breaks Christmas day box office record!

The seventh installment of the “Star Wars” saga also broke the opening week domestic box office record, earning Dollars 391.1 million after seven days in theatres, reported Ace Showbiz.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens offers little to those who care about plot and character, but evidence is that most Star Wars fans are not much concerned about things like that, and if you want thrills and action and the feeling that you’re on some kind of a ride, it should be right up your alley. Daisy Ridley and John Boyega lead a cast of newcomers to the franchise, joining original trilogy stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.

Hopefully a future video game from EA focuses on Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens. The Force Awakens actor Greg Grunberg says in a new interview that his friend JJ Abrams recently read the script for Episode VII, due out in theaters in 2017, and was blown away by it.

Despite positive reviews and a record-breaking opening weekend, the film was criticized by the newspaper as “more reboot than sequel”. But just because it’s a welcome addition to a beloved franchise hardly guarantees that it will even hold up as one of the best films in its genre over the next few years.

Electronic Arts and developer DICE have announced they do not plan to develop content based on the new film, beyond the recent Battle of Jakku DLC. J.J. Abrams has done what we all hoped and made a truly great Star Wars movie, and it’s clear that a lot of love has gone into making this because he too is a fan.
