‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ trailer teases fans with Darth Vader return
A brand new trailer for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” debuted during NBC’s Olympics coverage on Thursday night.
“Rogue One”, which is released in December, tells the story of resistance fighters who have come together to steal plans to the Death Star.
With a runtime of 2:15, the trailer does a great job of not only showcasing the major characters in the film, but more importantly, their interactions with one another.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” will be released in USA cinemas on December 16, 2016.
The plot for Rogue One acts as a precursor to the events of A New Hope and will shadow the doomed crew responsible for stealing the plans for the Death Star before the construction is fully complete.
When the teaser for the first stand-alone film in the new Star Wars anthology series, Rogue One, was released back in April 2016, viewers got a glimpse of Oscar victor Felicity Jones as Rebel fighter Jyn Erso.
Gareth Edwards is directing this new installment, which is the first in a long-line of planned spinoffs. “If you’re too respectful of it and you don’t do anything new and different, or taking risks, then what are you bringing to the table?”
WE know that you’re sitting at your desk, cupping your hands to your face and doing the Darth Vader breathing right now. Also planned for production are a standalone Han Solo movie (a young Han Solo that is) and of course Episodes XIII and IX in the new trilogy.
The movie set in a galaxy far, far away stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker and James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader. Rogue One director Garerth Edwards did confirm, nearly in passing, that James Earl Jones, the real Darth Vader, had recorded some lines for a character but played hard to get when it came down to which character.
