Star Wars superfans get married at themed wedding
“The Force Awakens” follows on from 1983’s “Return of the Jedi”, with franchise veterans Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill reprising their roles as Han Solo, Leia and Luke Skywalker respectively. And tonight, there was even a Star Wars themed wedding.
The ultimate Star Wars couple dated for five years, and had been engaged for one.
Star Wars actor John Boyega arrived late to the The Force Awakens’ London press conference yesterday (December 17).
“I have to join the force too, as a wife of course”, said Mary Olivieri, his wife.
“I just try and carry it on and give them the same experiences that I had as a kid”, Matthew said.
“Probably just how fantastic the characters are”, she said describing what makes the series so popular.
It is the first of a new trilogy and standalone movies the studio is planning.
While Fifty Shades of Gray sold more tickets the day before its Russian premiere – nearly 197,000 (at 589 theaters) – Star Wars: The Force Awakens is being screened in more expensive formats – 3D, IMAX and LUXE.
Lines grew by the minute at the Cinemark in Pearland and some came to the theater more dressed up than others like Sean “Obi-Wan” Lucas – and yes that is his last name. And this time, to watch it as a young adult with another young adult friend of mine named Rhyse, I can’t help but feel so awestruck and happy. As well as talking about how much freedom he had when shaping the new story (“there was really a blank slate”), he also spoke about mapping out the stories for Episodes VIII and IX: “It was incredibly exciting to see where [Rian Johnson] is going…” So set your vehicle to hyperdrive and give this movie a shot!
