Star Wars: The Force Awakens gets it MPAA rating
So far the spoilers in the trailers have been kept to an absolute minimum, with this new footage simply elevating excitement levels rather than giving anything away.
The focus of this trailer seems to be split between Ren and one of the movie’s new heroes, Oscar Isaac’s X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron, whose confrontation with the masked villain gets a few more seconds of screentime.
As we near the final weeks towards The Force Awakens, we’re starting to get a better understanding of what the film will be like. “Have you felt it?”
Star Wars fans are eagerly awaiting the day of December 18th, when The Force Awakens will be set free at movie theaters across the country, but what about on Christmas Day? The trailer opens with images of Kylo Ren in a space ship and there is a voiceover with both Andy Serkis’ voice and Kylo Ren’s.
Played by Adam Driver, the character appears to be following in Darth Vader’s footsteps given his similar appearance to the iconic antagonist and his red crossguard lightsaber.
“Because for me, I would expect to read the first two pages, then your character’s name’s not coming up as much”.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is directed by J.J. Abrams.
The Force Awakens received its official MPAA rating of PG-13 this week for “sci-fi action violence”, while reports surfaced confirming that the film has already made $50 million in ticket pre-sales.
Fans can also catch a glimpse in the trailer of heroic duo Rey and Finn, a massive legion of Stormtroopers, and old favourites Han Solo and Chewbacca. J.J. Abrams has recently revealed that Carrie Fisher’s Leia will not be referred to as “Princess” in the film, but has instead been given the title of “General”.
But since Abrams said that Ren is not a Sith, perhaps he’s some form of Jedi who thinks the Empire is a force for good and the rebels are the true enemies.
