Star Wars – The Force Awakens You From Your Slumber
Perhaps the best way for me to start my “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” review is with a review of “Creed”.
Before you savage me on social media, please note that I liked the movie.
“In a year full of sequels, reboots and returns, none have recaptured the zeitgeist like ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens, ‘” wrote Nick Dutro of The Advertiser-Tribune in Tiffin, Ohio.
Electronic Arts has already shown in financial documents that it plans to launch more Battlefront titles, although it is unclear whether the franchise will be annualized or whether it will give studios more time to create new gameplay mechanics. This also means that the movie shares a lot in common with A New Hope in terms of settings and situations.
So let’s get down to it.
SPOILER ALERT: This may or may not contain spoilers.
Why can everyone fight with a lightsaber? . Luke Skywalker sought the training of Yoda.
Should Episode 7’s main villain have actually claimed to have been related to Rey in Disney Infinity 3.0, it would have confirmed the popular fan theory that the young orphan from Jakku was Luke Skywalker’s estranged daughter, which might have been construed as an intimation of what’s to come in Episode 8.
Star Wars The Force Awakens isn’t only one of the best Star Wars movies, it is a great movie as well, which is thoroughly entertaining, mysterious and nostalgic.
Why can Rey use the Force? She did not have proper training but was able to resist Kylo Ren’s mind tricks. She also later summons Anakin/Luke’s lightsaber to her hand even though Ren is calling for it and both of these things fly in the face of everything we have seen about being Force sensitive in the previous films.
The Andy Serkis motion-capture character Supreme Leader Snoke is pretty stunning to behold, a 25-ft behemoth.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is on its way to the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office faster than any other film. “Despite the prerelease hype, it won’t save the world, not even Hollywood, but it seamlessly balances cozy favorites _ Harrison Ford, ladies and gentlemen _ and new kinetic wows along with some of the niceties that went missing as the series grew into a phenomenon, most crucially a scale and a sensibility that is rooted in the human”.
I could point to a few specific scenes, but I just can’t spoil it yet. However, this fails in comparison to what The Force Awakens has been earning. John Boyega plays reluctant hero Finn, conscripted to the First Order’s Storm Troopers, who rejects that life (“Because”, he says, “it was the right thing to do”) and finds himself aligned with members of the Resistance. There’s a real sense of overcompensation here-it’s telling that while the prequels eschewed any sort of “Han Solo figure” (i.e., a clumsily charming rogue in a cool jacket) and focused nearly exclusively on the monotonous, self-rubbing mysticism of the Jedi Knights, The Force Awakens features at least three different Han Solo figures, including the actual Han Solo (Harrison Ford, giving slightly more of an effort than in Crystal Skull). It was a shock that made the whole world seem more unsafe, like anything could happen. It also set a new high for the highest average with $57, 500 per screen in 4,134 theaters.
