Star Wars Themes Come To Your Google Account

Once a side has been selected, their Google apps will be gradually transformed to show a variety of Star Wars-related themes and Easter eggs.

Well, you’ll be glad to know that Google is helping you make that very choice.

SHE may not have been around for the original era of Star Wars, but the force is still strong in Rockhampton’s Alex Kindness.

Maps: You will navigate to your destination with the help of a TIE fighter or X-wing.

Elsewhere, standard loading or seeking bars like those found in YouTube and Gmail turn into lightsabers. Once you’ve picked a side (the dark side was worryingly popular in The Verge’s offices), Google starts updating your apps.

Ural joined the dark side with the recent unveiling of its limited-edition Star Wars-themed motorcycle – complete with lightsaber.

As someone who LOVES Star Wars, and can’t wait for The Force Awakens, this an awesome addition to my Google arsenal, and one that I actually hope sticks around even after the movie is already out.

In a post announcing the promo on the company’s blog, VP of Product Management Clay Bavor said there are lots of Star Wars fans like him in the Google galaxy.
