Starbucks Introduces Graham Cracker-Flavored Latte For The Fall
You can now get the Toasted Graham Latte in one of Starbucks’s new Fall cups, and, dare I say it, the new drink is better still than the Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Rumor has it that in honor of the autumnal equinox, Starbucks stores on Wednesday will be offering free samples of the Toasted Graham Latte as well as seasonal bakery items.
“I thought about the back-to-school season and looked at the latest food and beverage trends”, said Starbucks Beverage R&D Manager Yoke Wong, in a press release.
The Toasted Graham Latte combines sweet cream and graham mix with steamed milk and espresso for a drink that sounds like it’ll be challenging the Pumpkin Latte when it comes to your regular order.
The special cups will be available through the end of October, and Starbucks employees will be writing customers’ names – with varying degrees of accuracy, we imagine – in fall-friendly orange markers.
The company first uses graham cracker-steeped milk (yes, that’s apparently a thing), that resembles the cereal milk of Masterchef judge Christina Tosi’s Milk Bar. “It’s like a smooth vanilla crème and is very popular”.
The inspiration for the new flavor came from the bottom of a bowl.
Balch began to sketch fall symbols found in nature like leaves, berries, pumpkins and pine cones.
“We incorporated hints of color, but allowed the illustration to be the focus”. In fact, it might be our new favorite fall latte (gasp!) The beverage is less sweet than the PSL, so coffee lovers will like that they can still taste the espresso.
