Starbucks recalls stainless-steel straws on reports of cuts
Starbucks issued the recall Tuesday after receiving three reports of mouth lacerations in young children who used the stainless steel straws.
Consumers should not allow children to use the straws, which are rigid and pose a risk of injury, the coffee chain said in a statement.
Customers with questions can contact Starbucks at 800-782-7282 from 3 a.m.to midnight PST daily.
The recall involves reusable stainless steel, Cold-to-Go food-grade drinking straws in two sizes.
Starbucks has received three reports in the USA and one in Canada of mouth lacerations to young children while drinking from the straws. They were also included with beverage cups sold for between $11 and $30. The cup sizes are Grande 16-ounce cups, and Venti 24-ounce cups. The straws were made in China and imported by Starbucks Corp.
