Not only did Angie Bowie hear the tragic news about her ex-husband’s death and decide to stay on the show, but fellow housemate Jonathan Cheban finally made the decision to exit the house.
Big Brother set David Gest the challenge of producing the show, but his choice to enlist Angie Bowie as his second in command ruffled feathers among judges.
According to PEOPLE magazine, Bowie also admitted that she hasn’t “seen him for so many years”, and “can’t make a big drama out of it”.
He added: “I’m feeling very emotional because I’m sad that I’m going to go and say goodbye to everybody …”
Angie Bowie is mourning the loss of her ex-husband, David Bowie, in a very public way.
David Bowie’s first wife, Angie, broke down on camera after she was told of his death – long after the world had learned the sad news. In a tearful Diary Room chat, she said “I’m not a celebrity…”
Duncan confirmed that David had passed away on Sunday after an 18-month illness at the age of 69. However she made the fearless decision to stay in the house as she mourned in the diary room.
The former Hollyoaks star went into the house with a boyfriend, Sam Reece, but her relationship status appears to have changed.
Jade Goody and Jackiey Budden’s arrival in the “CBB” house prompted the Towers of London frontman to scale a wall and remove himself from the show after just a few short days, claiming: “I’m not waiting hand on foot, on some f***ing moron and her family”.
In her biography Backstage Passes: Life On the Wild Side with David Bowie, she said Bowie was “a right stud” who “could poke a hole in the wall”. If I leave, I look callous. “It’s nothing to do with you guys, I’ve just had enough”, he tells the other housemates.
The former model and actress was married to Bowie from 1970 to 1980. “I would send Stephanie but we’re in such a groove getting all this content for my app. Jonathan’s my best friend and I don’t know who else I would even ask to do this”.
But speaking to ITV’s Lorraine on Wednesday, Jonathan Cheban claimed the saddening news was “more” of a shock to the rest of the contestants.
