Start Em, Sit Em for Week Ten
There may be a few regression to the mean in that regard, but Williams has certainly made his case for weekly RB1 status.
Shoulder injury isn’t expected to limit him, but the Jets defense and the emergence of Karlos Williams might. But, the Bills aren’t making any definitive statements about depth chart movement just yet. Not that Robinson was in danger of losing any targets as he gets 9-12 per game, but this can only add to the appeal as the Jaguars face the Ravens this weekend.
With guard Dion Wiley out for the 2015-16 season with an injury, the Terps will turn to Rasheed Sulaimon and Jared Nickens to fill the void. Still, I would avoid him in this hard matchup against a rested team coming off its bye. Brandon Bolden is likely to form a committee at RB with James White, but both are likely to cancel out each other’s value.
Get him in your lineup if you have him until proven otherwise.
P.S. WHODEY! The Bengals are the only undefeated team that NOBODY is talking about! While Bell struggled to get back into shape after undergoing various offseason procedures, the youngster monopolized Detroit’s backfield. Marques Colston is averaging 9.1 fantasy points a game this year in a PPR setup.
Gates said Tuesday that his injured knee isn’t “close” to 100 percent and that he can’t “explode” off it. He’s still managed 10 catches for 125 yards the past two weeks, and he should continue to be a popular target for Philip Rivers with Keenan Allen (kidney) and Ladarius Green (ankle) out. Unfortunately for most, he was heavily under-owned in DFS last week after struggling for most of the season. Maybe. Bottom line is I wouldn’t sell low on him, but I would buy low. Cousins will be a cheap, yet solid, option in daily fantasy formats. Hill has five rushing scores, though they were all scored in his first four games of the season. The results were pretty meager (three receptions for 15 yards), but The Post’s Mike Jones reports that Washington is hoping it was just a matter of Jackson shaking off the rust. Get Starks in the lineup. Then Ben Roethlisberger went down. Even if McCoy plays, Williams is a usable flex. He has shown he can be unsafe when given time but this offensive line has given up at least one sack in every game this season. If you’re looking for a voluminous alternative, I wouldn’t fault you for pivoting to my favorite big lug, LeGarrette Blount ($23), whose Patriots are 10-plus point favorites against the Giants. You have to wonder how a guy can have that many receptions and yards, but not find the endzone once!
Heath Miller, PIT (vs Cleveland Browns) – No Big Ben = no start.
But wait, you say, this is Kirk Cousins you’re talking about?
Allen Robinson, JAX (@ Baltimore Ravens) – See what I wrote about Blake Bortles above. He scored 26 points in week nine to give him three straight games with 20 point performances since his bye week. His production depends exclusively on the decision and playmaking ability of a rookie QB who has been up and down as rookies always are. Against all others this season, he has 36 catches for 560 yards and four touchdowns.
Heading into Week 10 fantasy football action, keep an eye on these top 10 sleepers that have favorable match-ups this particular week. McCown (ribs) is listed as questionable and the presumption is he would get the start if he’s able to go.
Buffalo Bills: When it comes to Ryan Fitzpatrick be very careful. T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief are the main options in that passing attack, and with Luck showing signs of returning to his elite form, both are great fantasy options.
Here is how the 32 starters are ranked so far. The Packers will snap out of their funk in Lambeau against a bad Lions team and will remind fantasy owners of how good that offense can be. With that in mind, take a look at this week’s D/ST rankings right here and see if you can stream a team in week ten. The Browns also happen to be allowing a league-worst 147.6 rushing yards per game. That will benefit Jones this week, even though he logged just 27 yards on the ground his last time out. Check out his game log. Four times this season he has failed to reach 50 yards or to score. I would start Carr over several big name QB this week. The Eagles’ defense is vulnerable to the pass, but stiff against the run, so the play-calling could shift this week. The Saints’ remaining schedule sets up nicely for Brees and the only match-up that looks even a little iffy is the game against Carolina in Week 13, but even that is a home game for New Orleans.
Sit Marcus Mariota, Titans: Mariota is coming off his best performance of the season against the Saints where he threw for four touchdowns. A Friday afternoon report suggested the Browns are leaning toward starting Johnny Manziel. As long as Manziel is under center, the entire Browns offense should be avoided. 13 catches for 201 yards and 3 TD’s. With Bridgewater probable to play Sunday, Stefon Diggs should be a good value play in a game against the fantasy friendly Oakland Raiders.
Vernon Davis – Broncos: Way too many people got excited when Davis was traded to the Broncos. The problem is Manning is blinded by the light at the end of the career tunnel, Davis is 31-years-old himself and well past his prime, and [Davis] simply doesn’t know the playbook or the offense. Make sure to make a few room for these hidden gems that will surely do well this week. Hopefully you weren’t in the position of having to play Jackson last week and could sit back and see how he performed in his return to the field.
