Start Matt Ryan, bench Jimmy Graham in Week 11
What should we expect from Indianapolis Colts players with Matt Hasselbeck under center? How about the struggling Green Bay Packers’ wide receivers against the tough Minnesota Vikings’ secondary?
As many fantasy leagues count down to their trade deadlines, Jones’ value is definitely on the rise. That marked the long score of Gronkowski’s National Football League career. However, there is one reason to rejoice: Tony Romo (shoulder) is expected to play for the first time since Week 2. Sit him if you can. Hopefully this will help you build better lineups as well as put a few money into your account come late Monday night after the last whistle has blown.
Marks: Romo returns to action with a lovely match-up down on South Beach (kinda sorta). Ryan’s touchdown numbers have lagged so far but he has thrown for more than 300 yards per game. Pierre Garcon should mean nothing to fantasy owners.
Fisher: Cousins still only has three starts worthy of QB1 status – Week 4 against the Eagles, Week 7 against the Bucs, and of course last week against the Saints – so I’m not yet ready to call him a starter in fantasy. With Romo back this week, I’m looking for the Cowboys to be a little extra charged for this one. He could see even more work behind a new quarterback. That’s five scores in his past three games. This week, it was Edelman, who reportedly broke a bone in his foot in his first half. And if this is going to be the final Droppables column of the season, why not start it with a bang? It sounds insane, but Tom Brady’s just playing too well to treat Amendola as anything less. If successful, those targets have to go somewhere, and Amendola owners should expect a ton of them. Osweiler held his own in garbage time last week, completing 14 of 24 passes for 146 yards, a TD and an INT. Obviously, there’s not much to go on with the 6-8 signal-caller, but at least he has good receiving weapons around him. The Patriots’ Week 11 opponent, the Buffalo Bills, are far from a brick wall when it comes to stopping opposing offenses, particularly the passing game. Their offensive scheme and quarterback are that good. But Amendola isn’t a bad flex play. Call me insane again, but it is Mr. Amendola for me.
Hetherington: I’m going to say West, as he appears to offer more upside than Langford.
Jay Cutler has scored at least 17 fantasy points in six straight games. Will he extend that streak to seven against a Broncos defense that has allowed its two highest single-game point totals the past two weeks?
Matthew Stafford (No. 11) managed to post respectable numbers last week against the Packers, and this week, he gets a reeling Raiders’ defense that’s allowed 21.3 FPPG to QBs (sixth most).
Jeremy Langford, RB, Chicago Bears: Owners who picked up Langford last week continued to get big-time results from Matt Forte’s fill-in. If there are players in your league who are owned in more than 50% of leagues but somehow are still floating available in your league, you can reach out and ask me specific questions on Twitter @FansidedFantasy where I do my best to answer as many questions as I can.
Cullen: Oh, I don’t think so. He has double-digit fantasy points in every game this year, making him a cornerstone player for your DraftKings lineup. White could be part of a more comprehensive solution after playing a bit role – 1 carry for 5 yards, 1 catch for 6 yards – in the Patriots’ comeback win over the NY Giants.
Manning probably isn’t going to remember the day he secured one of the NFL’s most prestigious records all that fondly.
McCormick: We have a somewhat skewed small sample for Hasselbeck at the helm of this offense, but it was an encouraging stretch compared with the inept backup play around the league.
