State Board of Elections reminds voters to register by Aug
The primary is scheduled for August 27, a Saturday. The town clerk’s office will be open until 8 p.m. The deadline for voter registration for the general election is October 28. The office closes at 5 p.m. today. Registration forms are also available for download on the site.
Persons who are United States Citizens, residents of MA, and who will be at least 18 years old on or before September 8 are eligible to register to vote.
New Yorkers wanting to register in-person may do so at their county boards of elections and at many state agency offices throughout the state, but must do so no later than August 19th, to be eligible to vote in the state & local primary. Residents can present the following: US passport, driver’s license, birth certificate or a Guam ID.

The State Board of Elections Tuesday wanted to remain all NY residents that the deadline to register to vote in the September 13, 2016, primary is this week.
Hughes also prevailed in the district-wide race and will face Collin Peterson in the General Election on November 8.
Since New York has a closed primary system, you must be enrolled in the party that’s having a primary to take part. You simply must be registered to vote for the general election, but can choose whichever candidates you wish to vote for.
