Statewide gas prices increase 7 cents
A year ago, the state average was $3.20.
If Central Texas residents thought gas prices couldn’t go any lower, they should think again.
AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular lost six cents over the past week to end at $2.22.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the District of Columbia alone is $2.52, down 7 cents from a week ago.
Of the cities surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel, the lowest average price can be found in the Marquette area, where it’s about $2.24 per gallon.
Gas in Nolanville is a close third with the Corner Store and Shell, both on South Main Street, with gas for $1.87 per gallon. The highest prices at the pump in South Florida are $3.89 a gallon at several stations near Miami worldwide Airport.
Two reasons for that: Lower prices in the fall when fewer Americans take long road trips, as well as dropping oil prices because of a large global supply.
