Steelers easily handle Colts 45-10
Antonio Brown scores a hat-trick, including a 71-yard run-in, as Pittsburgh Steelers ease past Indianapolis Colts with a 45-10 victory.
The Pittsburgh Steelers got a much needed win Sunday night against a hapless Indianapolis Colts team that keeps their playoff hopes alive.
The Pittsburgh quarterback threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns in the Steelers’ 45-10 dismantling of the decimated Colts on Sunday night. Just don’t mistake OK for satisfied.
If no one else will say it I will, that was a joke of a performance by Toler, and I’d be shocked if he stays in Indy past this season. “When we don’t do it, it’s frustrating”.
After a thorough dismantling of the Indianapolis Colts, nobody’s taking Pittsburgh for granted any longer. Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger started despite sustaining a concussion in the loss to the Seattle Seahawks last week.
After Roethlisberger completes six in a row, including a 7-yard toss to Brown, to put the Steelers back into the lead, the Colts naturally respond with a three-and-out. Winn is confident the Colts will be able to fix the issues moving forward “There were a lot of mistakes that were made out there, and I know that we will go back and we will get it all situated and corrected”. That way I can run out to Primanti’s and get myself a low-calorie Pittsburgher sandwich. Our special teams and our defense did a great job of getting turnovers for us early.
The Houston Texans lost, too, dropping a game to the Buffalo Bills earlier in the day.
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was among many Steelers laughing at the moment after the game, saying “it was slippier than he thought”. “Then we were prepared to handle it, and they would just rush three”. Both teams losing on Sunday just further emphasized how important that matchup on December 20 is going to be, though for now the Colts have maintained their hold on first place thanks to the tiebreaker.
Here’s another time you might have gotten the vague idea that things weren’t going to end well: Three times in the Colts first five possessions, their starting field position was in Steelers’ territory.
Indianapolis’ last best shot to get back in it came later in the quarter, but Hasselbeck was chased to the sideline and threw an incomplete pass on fourth down at the Pittsburgh 14.
“I went by and thanked every one of (the defensive players) for bailing me out because that was big”, said Williams, who finished with 134 yards on 26 carries.
“I was full of excitement”, he told NBC after the game. Harrison forced a fumble, and after the Steelers recovered, Hasselbeck walked off the field and showed no sign of injury.
The Pittsburgh receiver tried to squeeze the yellow post pad with his legs. Yet it hardly seemed to matter.
“We’ll deal with it on a weekly basis and hopefully be where we want to be when everything is said and done”. We’ve been down this road before. We’ve got to play physical.
Roethlisberger threw two touchdown passes in the final four minutes of the first half to give the Steelers a 24-10 halftime lead.
Hasselbeck’s string of consecutive wins as a 40-year-old QB ended at four. “The more that they believe in me, the more they put the ball in my grip, the easier it is”.
