Steelers Eliminate Ravens from Playoff Contention
We were hurting ourselves. Going into every game, that’s the No. 1 thing we want to stop. It was James’ most productive day since Week 10 against Dallas, when Green made his Pittsburgh debut after off-season ankle surgery. He’s one of the young players on the Ravens’ front seven worth watching. Ravens FB Kyle Juszczyk scored Baltimore’s go-ahead touchdown with 1:18 remaining in regulation, but did so after getting hit, tumbling, catching himself and falling into the end zone. But Bell is too valuable to trot out there Sunday, especially considering his insane workload – averaging 28 touches per game for the season.
But in the case of the Steelers’ offensive line, there’s been plenty of rhythm to go around of late.
Baltimore came into the key AFC North matchup knowing that they would have to defeat Pittsburgh in order to stay alive for a playoff berth.
Now that the Pittsburgh Steelers are headed to the AFC playoffs as the likely No. 3 seed, they’ll probably play at home against Miami in the wild-card round. However, the Ravens left points on the field as they scored just two touchdowns in five red zone opportunities.
Obviously a loss to Tom Brady at Gillette Stadium wouldn’t be an very bad loss, but it would be disappointing because with Bell and Brown playing at the level they are playing, this feels like it should be the Steelers time.
Baltimore is still in contention because Mosley tipped a 2-point conversion pass against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Suggs leads the Ravens with eight sacks this season, despite playing with a torn biceps in his left arm since October 16. On a blitz, Mosley got his hand on quarterback Carson Wentz’s pass, and it fell incomplete to seal the victory. However, while the face-value of your ticket and your game-day experience may be lessened just a tad, it’s nothing compared to how the Steelers’ chances of making a Super Bowl run would decrease if one of those aforementioned inactive superstars were active for a contest that means absolutely nothing and suffered a significant injury.
Foster and Pro Bowl guard David DeCastro were re-signed in the offseason, two years after center Maurkice Pouncey and right tackle Marcus Gilbert were given extensions. He also went as a rookie in 2014.
Brown ran towards the middle of the field, beating safety Jerraud Powers to a spot and outfighting safety Eric Weddle at the goal line.
The Steelers moved to 10-5 on the season, dropping the Ravens to 8-7. He called the former Theodore High School star “the natural”. “After that, I knew I could get the ball in”. He’ll make just $4 million next season, which isn’t much for a former Defensive Player of the Year. “Maybe I’ll see him tomorrow morning”.
I’ll respond to that with a question: Did you watch the games?
“He’s a special talent, a special teammate, a guy that leads by the way he carries himself and the way he practices”. I love him to death. “They made great throws, catches, he got of the pocket and made some plays”.
