Steelers LB James Harrison meets with NFL investigators
The NFL investigated the claims against Manning and cleared him of any wrongdoing.
Harrison is set to meet with National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell on Thursday after being threatened with suspension if he didn’t comply.
Former Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning also was named in the report.
Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison will meet with National Football League investigators on Thursday at 11 a.m. over the Al-Jazeera report that linked four active players to performance-enhancing drug use, his agent Bill Parise confirms.
The date meets the requirement the league sent out last week that Harrison and two other players – Green Bay Packers linebackers Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers – must submit to interviews by August 25 or face possible indefinite suspension.
The Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker called the NFL’s probe a waste of time, saying that he will be cleared.
James Harrison is really confident he will be cleared of alleged PED use. “I’m going to be cleared”.
“I’m not anxious, man. Me sitting out or having to sit out a season is not it”. Harrison, 38, couldn’t help himself recently when he discussed the league dangling punishment over failing to cooperate with an investigation. “They don’t have credible evidence”. “I wouldn’t have a problem with (the interview) being filmed, live”. He suggested last week his interview with the league should be broadcasted by the media. “That’s just the collective bargaining agreement that the players signed (in 2011)”, he said following last Thursday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
