Steelers say Ben Roethilsberger has concussion; status TBD
Roethlisberger left Sunday’s loss to Seattle in the fourth quarter after self-reporting a potential concussion.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has become accustomed to dealing with injuries throughout his playing career, a narrative that has become all too present a reminder this season with the significant injuries that have sidelined him this season.
Allowing a combined 626 yards and nine touchdowns to last year’s Super Bowl signal callers – Tom Brady and Russell Wilson – is one thing. I was literally on the sideline for probably the first time in maybe my life thinking about my family and not going back into the game because I didn’t feel quite right. “I was standing there for the first time thinking, it’s bigger than just me”.
“I saw (Steelers receivers) going to the flats and the quarterback looking my way, and I just jumped it”, said Lane. “We hung in there, kept battling”.
“We need to be smarter as football players”, he said.
Doug Baldwin, Seahawks: He caught six passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns in his team’s 39-30 win over the Steelers. It’s the best Wilson has played from the pocket in his career.
And it’s something they have to fix quickly if they want to make the playoffs. And the Seahawks finally got on the top side of the.
The defense needs to get tougher quickly before the season gets away from them. “They need to get together and tell their players what’s going on because I was relaying on what the doctors had told me”.
Roethlisberger was pulled with 2 minutes left and taken to the locker room for concussion protocol. So obviously whether it’s a third party or Coach Tomlin or another doctor said you’re not clear.
Seattle finished with exactly 100 yards rushing, led by Thomas Rawls’ 81 yards on 21 carries with one touchdown.
The 26-year-old Pryor can also play quarterback, which could give the Browns some insurance with starter Josh McCown likely done for the season with a collarbone injury. The team’s defense shut the Buccaneers out in the second half.
The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Pittsburgh’s last 9 games. The Steelers attempted just 14 rushes, five of those coming from Roethlisberger.
Week 13 of the National Football League season pits two of the game’s all-time leading passers now leading their respective teams in the AFC playoff picture.
Pittsburgh is trying to overcome the loss of All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell.
FAILED FAKE: Pittsburgh’s attempt at catching Seattle unprepared instead provided the Seahawks a spark. Michael Vick subbed in for him and so has Landry Jones.
-SPECIAL TEAMS: C-minus. A fake field goal call went badly awry when Jones threw an interception that set up Seattle’s first touchdown.
“Al’s the second option on that whole deal”. Whether he’s as heavily involved through the air moving forward remains to be seen, but he should be able to get back on track on the ground this week.
What’s on the docket for Roethlisberger and the Steelers is a juicy primetime matchup against the Colts, followed by three divisional games against the Bengals, Ravens and Browns, and an inter-conference matchup against Denver. Pittsburgh has the same record as Kansas City, Houston, Indianapolis and the New York Jets in the wild card chase.
