Steelers WR Antonio Brown apologizes for Facebook Live video
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin says he will punish the team’s all-pro wide receiver for streaming his postgame locker room message on Facebook Live for the world to hear Sunday night.
“We’ll be ready for their a**, but you ain’t got t tell them coming”, the coach added, driving the point home that those “a**holes” are the New England Patriots that the Steelers will meet on January 22.
For the next week Tomlin and his players are going to be bombarded with questions about this video. “It would be me in this game”, he said. “But this is a changing world, a changing environment”.
The livewire star posted a 17-minute long Facebook live video from the Steelers’ dressing room showing celebrations after the win over the Chiefs.
Guard Ramon Foster “would love to hear AB’s explanation” but downplayed any concerns about the video becoming a distraction or taking away from Pittsburgh’s ninth straight victory. “I have a lot of respect for him, I think that’s very well known”.
Defense vs. Bell: As far as the rest of the defense goes, Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia knows tackling will be a key point of emphasis for his team. It’s a bunch of guys having fun, talking, enjoying themselves. “Don’t want that to happen to Antonio Brown“.
In the clip, Tomlin refers to their next opponents New England Patriots using an expletive.
“We spotted them a@#holes a day-and-a-half”, Tomlin said of the Patriots.
Ben Roethlisberger was the voice of reason, talking after Tomlin and telling his teammates to stay away from any controversy leading up to the game, blissfully unaware that his favorite target had already stepped in it.
“I’m not going to say anything to them that I haven’t already been saying”. Overall, New England is 33-4 at home since 2013.
Backup quarterback Landry Jones was serviceable in just his third career start in Roethlisberger’s absence.
If Malcolm Butler covers Pittsburgh receiver Antonio Brown on Sunday the way he did in the Visa commercial they shot back in December, then the Patriots should be just fine. Roethlisberger was sidelined with a knee injury, but field mics caught him asking Tom Brady for his jersey after the game.
