Stepfather Of 2-Year-Old Clarksville Child Shot And Killed Arrested
Police near Nashville have arrested a Kentucky man in the fatal shooting of a 2-year-old boy.
According to police, 23-year-old David Wi was arrested on Friday in connection to the case.
The investigation has revealed that Wi conspired with Zackery Alexander in the murder of Joseph Bankston and the shooting of Brandon Jimenez.
The investigation is ongoing with the Army’s Criminal Investigation Department, Clarksville Police, and other agencies are working the case.
Jimenez remains hospitalized in critical condition.
David Wi has been charged with conspiracy to commit criminal homicide.
On Wednesday, the governor’s office offered a $15,000 reward and released a sketch of the suspected gunman.
Alexander’s arrest came about 24-hours after the announcement.
Gov. Bill Haslam, who announced the reward money, said he hoped it would “bring whoever did this to justice”.
Alexander was booked into the Montgomery County Jail late yesterday.
Wi’s bond has been set at $5 million. There is no further information at this time.
The toddler, Joseph Bankston, was killed on October. 4. As yet, the mother of the toddler has not been named, nor has she been implicated in the incident. “Very, unsettling”, said Griffey.
