Stephen Curry’s wife doesn’t want to get naked for you
However, her thoughts didn’t sit well with some, who accused Curry of online “shaming” and tearing other women down.
Curry expressed a similar sentiment Saturday, tweeting, “Everyone’s into barely wearing clothes these days huh?” She wasn’t lecturing others about their fashion choices or name names (we’re lookin’ at you, Kim Kardashian); she was merely stating her personal preference and trying to start a conversation. “Not my style. I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters”, Curry said before being criticized over her comments.
“Not my style”, she tweeted out Saturday during her mini-rant.
She also assured the public her tweets were not an invitation to degrade women or belittle them for their decision to wear particular items of clothing.
Curry took the responses in stride however responding back “and all I’m doing is sitting here reading a style weekly”. I’m sure there’s something to be said for how both women are married mothers and, thus, are at a stage of life when they’re gravitating toward conservatism.
Curry’s dedication to modesty likely stems from her strong Christian faith, which she shares with her NBA-star husband.
The comments instantly gained negative attention from her followers.
But the message received quite the rebuke in the social media world, with critics lashing out at Curry for “slut-shaming”. “I’ll take classy over trendy any day of the week”, she wrote in a post that had more than 13,500 re-tweets and nearly 20,000 likes by Monday.
Ayesha Curry thinks the latter.
