Stephen Curry serves as Panthers’ drummer for Super Bowl 50
Newton was terse and brief on the interview podium after turning the ball over three times in the Carolina Panthers’ 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium.
Prior to the first home game of the season, Curry was on the field to bang the Panthers’ “keep pounding” drum (see above).
Curry’s Warriors host the Oklahoma City Thunder Saturday night at Oracle Arena. Though he didn’t pick up the college title, Curry did make it to the National Basketball Association, and he’s developed into perhaps the best shooter of all time. He went on to become an assistant coach for the team. It bears the slogan “Keep Pounding”, which began in 2003 to honor Panthers linebackers Sam Mills and Mark Fields, both of whom battled cancer. He found great success with the Panthers during their inception season. Two weeks ago, before the Panthers played the Arizona Cardinals, Curry showed up for a shootaround in Oakland in a custom No. 30 Panthers jersey.
The interception Curry is referring to came when the Panthers were up 24-7 late in the first half and appeared to be cruising. Enjoy the experience of playing in the Super Bowl. “I’ve never been to a Super Bowl before, so it’s going to be a lot of fun”.
