Steve Harvey pokes fun at his Miss Universe gaffe

The host, Steve Harvey, announced the wrong victor and started an all out war on the internet between the natives of the two countries, Columbia and Philippines.

On the heels of his major screw up at the Miss Universe pageant, comes this. It’s his way of poking fun at himself. Jokes have ranged from memes of Harvey declaring the Dallas Cowboys NFC East Champions all the way to Miss Philippines cashing in a WWE Money in the Bank contract on Miss Colombia.

Todorova, at 11:57 p.m. of Thursday, Manila time, posted a photo of herself on social networking site Facebook with the greeting “Maligayang Pasko po, Pilipinas!” together with heart emojis.

Steve Harvey later approached Pia Wurtzbach and personally apologised for the error. Miss Colombia 2015, Ariadna Gutierrez (L), was mistakenly named as Miss Universe 2015 instead of First Runner-up. He also forever ensured that he will be the most remembered show host in competition history.

The combination of flubs led to an onslaught of criticism and jokes made at Harvey’s expense online, while others rushed to Harvey’s defense.

Harvey issued this formal apology via Twitterimmediately following the pageant.

“Nobody feels worse about this than me”, he said at the time.
